This is amazing... It's like staring into the reflections of a stream and trying to make out what it is. But one can never find out what it is cause it's all in the artist's stream of thoughts. Great work!
i try to stick with good quality paints windsor newton, grumbacher but it's whatever i have on hand at that time. i do glazes in between layers once dry... stand oil with a little mineral spirits and spray retouch varnish high gloss.
Looks like a Hieronymus Bosch (or Salvador Dali) piece that got turned sideways and melted.
Also reminds me of a gutter near my apartment; thanks to some weird mess-ups of drainage and plumbing, the gutter where the road meets the sidewalk is always full of water, like a stream, not to mention when it's raining. Thanks to that, there's grass and such growing in the gutter. It looks kinda cool (it's hell for the asphalt, though). This is a bit like that: cool colors for the water, gutter, and rainy weather, with splashes of warm colors for the plants.
*smiles* All this from a guy who told me once he didn't really like abstract art... I'm sooo happy you are able to see those images and you're able to describe what it is you see in your own words and can correlate it to something so tangible and can make me see what you're describing.
